IT CAN BE JOY TO HAVE BEEN FOUND TO BE WRONG
‘Consider it all joy’ when there are those who care enough about you and other believers to open your eyes to more vistas of life in God than you thought possible. People can take offence at the imputation that there is a deeper life to be had in God than what they are experiencing. It’s a reverse kind of judgmentalism that can be found in individuals and communities. It’s a form of smugness that can exclude us from becoming who we really are less as a worker and more of a son.
SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE
Christ’s Gospel is simple and singular in that it is Christ our life.
“In the Gospel..we are yoked together with Jesus in his bearing of our burden and are made to share in the almighty strength and immutability of his vicarious faith and faithfulness on our behalf. Through his incarnational and atoning union with us our faith is implicated in his faith, and through that implication, far from being depersonalised or dehumanised, it is made to issue freely and spontaneously out of our own human life before God.” (1)
There is no separation in God and there is no separation between Christ and your life. He has not given you a dualism in which to live. He has given us oneness with Himself. ‘The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one’ John 17.22 ESV.
YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE
‘Yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me’ 1 Cor 15.10 NIV.
With Christ as our life we have no need to prove anything even if the religious may demand that we do. The result of our birth from religion into Christ as us is that we become a person of grace and truth. We become who we were created to be and who the resurrected Christ in us is making us. We become people who can see because we gain the eyes of Christ that are not the eyes of religion. We become spirit and life because the New Adam is in us and is us. There is no death in Him. Only spirit and life which is what we are becoming in Him.
